Mary was born in on 11/28/1952 to Richard and June Gillespie. She was part of a loving family of 7 brothers and 2 sisters. They continued to support each other for the rest of her life.
She graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1971, 91Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ in 1976, and became one of the first graduates of the then-new paralegal program at Roosevelt University. Mary began her long career as a paralegal with Borg Warner Corporation, followed by Goldman Sachs, Sidley Austin, VanKampen, and finally Invesco. She took her work seriously and was much liked and respected by her colleagues. Mary retired in 2019 shortly before she was diagnosed.
When not working Mary spent her energies cultivating an ever expanding and ever blooming garden, traveling near and far with close knit group of friends, and endeavoring her way through a towering stack of puzzle books.
